'JUST ONE MORE' FISHING REPORT, 10/5/11

A lot of different species are on tap right now. The striped bass are in. They are being caught eeling, as well as trolling. Bluefish are still here and are being chummed up and caught on lures when they chase bait to the surface and we find the birds. The real big news is monster, slab sided porgies being caught in the bay and out at the reef. This has been super fast fishing with double headers. There are also blackfish and seabass mixed in. I have not seen porgy fishing like this in a very long time. And false albacore have been around. You get a couple of casts at the school and then they are gone because they are so fast. It is now beautiful weather, warm sun, water temps. still in the 60's and light winds. Time to get out there and experience some fall Sandy Hook fishing !!

Dates available to charter are: October 6, 11, 13, 14, 18, 20, 21. Your choice: stripers, blues, or porgies! Afternoon trips are available, especially in this beautiful weather for 4 hours of eeling big stripers. 2: 30pm to 6:30pm or depending when I get finished cleaning the fish from the day trip.
