FISHING REPORT
Sat Oct 1st
Well the front passed thru last night with some wind and rain but this morning the rain is done and the temp is 58 and we have a NW wind about 14.
The island has a lot of people here this weekend. Lots of traffic yesterday and the resturants seemed quite busy whenwent home last night.
All day yesterday there was a lot of mullet off of our beach and all day yesterday there were fish being caught from the beach. With this wind today it will be nice on the beach and you should have a good day catching these bluefish and king fish so make some time and hit the beach. Mullet and mullet rigs for these small blues and hold the rod to catch more. The king fish are loving blood worms and the artifical ones also.
Good luck fishing today!!
Fri Sept 30th
Holgate will reopen at 7:00 pm
It is nice when people catch fish. They may be small but there is a lot of them. King fish and bluefish on the beach with a striper thrown in there once in awhile. Bayside is a lot of blowfish and seabass with a few snappers. Off the beach there are some weakfish and croakers for those of you going to deeper waters.
This morning it is 66 here at the beach. The wind is from the SSW at 6 and the ocean temp is 73. Hard to believe that the ocean is still 73 but maybe that is the reason that the mullet run has slowed down. We have coastal flood warnings again today.

Yesterday the high tide along with the super moon ide had the ocean up very high.

They are hoping to open Holgate later this afternoon after doing some repairs.
Great kingfish bite again yesterday on the incoming tide last night.
