Chilly morning or to me it is cold with an air temp of 41 and a NNE wind of 12. The ocean is 57. The wind is down some from last night and is suppose to get better during the day

This afternoon we saw fish come from the surf on a variety of bait.

Lucky for us our bunker guy took a chance on the wind yesterday morning and got out before the wind so we have a fresh supply of bunker and also fresh clams.

I know when I left here last night the wind was cranking and it was cold. For those of you that fished the beach or the boat last night in the dark and caught fish ~~~ you deserve it with the conditions that you had.

    Fri Nov 4th

Just like earlier in the week we had a few Classic fish weighed in to night from around the high tide time.

By 9 o'clock the wind picked up from the north and has gusted to 25. Some of the boats in the inlet had some fish on clams this am before heading to calmer waters.

Surprising there were a few bass between 7and 9 on the beach this morning with some of them weighable. Tom Kirk was just short with this 13 pound 33.5 incher but a great dinner fish.

Looks like a niceweekend ahead except for the wind. It is 44 this morning with a lite SW wind. The ocean is 59. Small craft warnings are up thru Saturday.

Robert caught this fish during the night on a storm shad. This classic fish weighed 15-7.

Right now we are experiencing the best striper fishing that we have had all fall.

The boats are catching fish up to 40 pounds on clams and eels. So far the fishing has been mainly in our bay and inlet. The last few days the inlet has been swelly causing boats to turn around. Those that have made it out of Barnegat Inlet have been jigging some big bluefish and some bass on ava jigs off of Island Beach.

The surf casters got a break yesterday as far as throwing heavier sinkers. Once again this week is the best so far in the Classic. There is still plenty of time to sign up for this 8 week event because we are not even half way thru it. The leader at 41 pounds was caught the first day and we know there will be bigger fish to come. The lead blue is 14 pounds and just caught recently. Best time on the surf has been the last of the incoming thru the high and the beggining of the out. High tide today is at 3:48 pm.

Mark had this 16 pounder in Holgate after high last night.
