FISHING REPORT
Mon Nov 28th
I have read some horrible reports of people catching bass and wasting them. If you don't want them PUT them back. It is horrible when people come back to the dock and throw their fish overboard or there are people just leaving them laying on the beach. There were so many years where we did not have the fishery that we now have.
Don't abuse it or we may lose it once again.
We have a little wind this morning with a SSE wind about 12. The air temp is 56 and the ocean is 57.
What a weekend we had. Nice weather and fish. The fish part went mainly to the boat fisherman who could catch all they wanted and then some. They could catch till they wore their arms out. Ava jigs and umbrella rigs being the most popular. For a lot of boaters this was their final weekend. It is time to put it away for the winter.
For those of you still with a boat in the water we are here for your fishing needs. Tony Maja bunker spoons along with Tony's bunker spoon rods. Ava jigs and we have 9ers umbrella rigs with tubes and shads.
Final week for the 57th Classic. Last week saw a lot of smaller fish entered. For those that were throwing lures had a great week with multiple fish.
The ones throwing bunker had a slower week but with the wind change things started to pick up a little late Sat with some larger fish entered that were caught on bunker.
We are getting restocked on some items that ran low thru the weekend. A new shipment of T-Hexes, Avas, Needles and teaser rigs are on the way.
Last year the Classic ended with 521 fish. As of 7 pm on 11/27 there are 500 fish entered. Last year the last week was very slow. The weather was not very nice. Here is a look at how last year ended. Good luck this last week to all anglers.

How lucky can we get to have this beautiful day. Hard to believe that it is the end of November.
Nice to see a couple of larger Classic fish entered. Last night there was a 25#er and this morning we had one come in that was 34-6 caught by John Jasinski of the Squid Hounds.
Peg was fishing on the beach in Beach Haven and caught this 16-3 bass on bunker.
Ed Youse with his largest Classic fish to date. Eds' fish was 19-14 caught on bunker in Holgate.
It sounds like the hot bite on the north end has slowed down a little. Seems like those sand eels are moving down the beach.
We have a report of Tuna busting water off of Beach Haven this morning. Yesterday there were some seen and caught at Barnegat Ridge.
A good trip jigging today for Anthony, Laura and Rick. Their fish were 13-18 pounds and caught off of Ship Bottom.
Kids Classic continues to 1 pm today. This morning we had 2 of Mike Kanes grandchildren enter fish.
Joe is 6 and weighed in a 8-10 bass caught on bunker.
Harry at age 9 is leading in the younger division of the Classic but is weighing in his 12 pounder to our Kids Classic.
Another Kids Classic for Ryan O'Connell with a pair of 9 pounders.
Sat Nov 26th
We have fresh bunker!
At 5 am it is 46 degrees with a SW wind under 10. The ocean is 55 degrees.
At 5 am there are already boats fishing with rods doubled over. Some anglers are trying to limit out before daybreak.
Marky and Drew had another good morning with their limit of bass from 12-15 pounds on Avas'.
If you are reading this you should be already on the beach or out in the boat. Sand eels, sand eels and more sand eels. Ava jig or ava with teasers for the beach for the daylight bite to imitate sand eels.
Classic fish for Harry with this 11-12 bass caught on a needle.
Right now we have quantity versus quality as far as fish go. So many fish in the 12 -18 pound range being caught on lures. For the quality fish (Classic winner size) bunker will probably do the trick more so than lures. I did hear of some larger fish caught in the boats yesterday. (35 pounds on the scale)
Our Kids Classic is still going on today so take the kids to the beach. Have a good day.
Regina age 8 has a bigger fish today for Kids Classic. Her fish was caught ava jig and weighed 13-6.
Fri Nov 25th
At 4 pm we have plenty of fresh bunker in store along with surf clams. We are still looking to see a fish bigger than the 41 pound bass to win the Classic.
If you look at the Classic list for weigh ins today you would think things are slow on the surf. On the other hand that is not true. It is just that the fish do not make 34 inches. It was another great morning for the casters with the metal and teasers and needle fish. Clean healthy fat fish from Brant Beach surf north. You want to be on the beach before daybreak for your best shot at these fish.
Once again today striper fishing in the boats is out of sight. Jigs, jigs and more jigs. Get there early for the best fishing. As the day goes on stretch plugs, umbrella rigs and spoons will catch you fish. Some larger fish were taken in the boats today along with some throw backs.
Are you still stuffed this morning? I saw a lot of people out walking it of last night.
WSW wind this morning at 14 and it is 47 degrees and the ocean is 55.
Jingles version of Kids Classic starts at 7am.
At Thanksgiving time we reflect back on what we are thankful for. For me one of those things is Grand-children. I am very lucky to have two great and smart grandchildren and it is their honor that this weekend is Jr. Anglers weekend.
We had the first Kids Classic fish entered. Holly Eissinger with 2 bass this am. Her largest was 12 pounds and she had a 11-2. Holly is 12. Regina Ingling is 8 and has entered a 9-7 in the Kids Classic. All fish were caught on artificials. They were out with their grandfather in Don Ingling.
If you are going out in the boat go early and get back early. Ava jigs worked for the crew of the Sundance this morning. A comment made on the radio this morning was that "It is more crowded out here than in Walmart's' parking lot".
