So far this year we have been very lucky as far as snow but itsounds like we may get some snow before it changes to rain her at the beach. The winds are going to come from the east north east which should warm us up here at the beach.Winds are forcasted to gust to 30 which once again may close the Holgate entrance.
I know with the snow inland it will make my grandson very happy as he has a new truck and plow this year where as last year with all the snow he used a snow blower. Be safe Austin and everyone else that is out driving in it.

Coast Guard investigators will interview the crew of a commercial vessel near Houston as part of an ongoing investigation into the capsizing of the Mandy Ness off the coast of Long Beach Island last week
The Mandy Ness captain, Jim Mears, died when he could not escape.
Coast Guard officials said in a news release that its initial investigation determined that another boat was in the area at the time the Mandy Ness capsized. Personnel from Sector Hampton Roads boarded the commercial boat in question off the coast of Virginia on Jan. 11, the day after the capsizing, to determine whether the boat was in the vicinity of the Mandy Ness when the incident occurred.
Investigators will interview the crew of the unidentified boat today near Houston and inspect the boat when it arrives in port, the news release stated.
About 11:15 p.m. on Jan. 10, the Coast Guard and the fishing boat Frances Anne responded to the Mandy Ness. Seas that night were about 3 feet, skies were clear with a nearly full moon illuminating the ocean, and there was little wind, the Coast Guard stated.
Rescuers were able to pluck crewmember Trevor Horan from the 44-degree water, but Mears was pronounced dead at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Mainland Campus, in Galloway Township.
The information we obtained from the Jan. 11 boarding led us to believe that the vessel was in the vicinity of the Mandy Ness at the time of the capsizing, said Capt. Meredith Austin, commander of Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay, the news release. Based on that information, Coast Guard investigators will board the vessel again in Houston and interview members of the crew. We will continue to actively investigate the incident to allow us to provide information to the family and friends of Mr. Mears, who was lost in the accident, and to prevent a similar tragedy in the future.

Garden State Parkway widening project to require
Route 72 lane closures in Stafford
(Trenton) - NJDOT and New Jersey Turnpike Authority (NJTA) officials today announced lane closures on Route 72 in Stafford Township to accommodate ongoing construction on the Garden State Parkway bridges over the state highway.Beginning this week, overnight single-lane closures will be allowed on Route 72 in each direction under the GSP bridges from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning. NJTA's contractor, Earle Asphalt Company, will also be permitted to close the outside auxiliary lane on Route 72 in each direction under the bridges between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., daily. Two travel lanes will be maintained on Route 72 in each direction at all times. This stage of construction is anticipated to be complete by mid-May 2012. No regular lane closure schedule will be permitted on Route 72 during the summer season. The NJTA is reconstructing the bridges over Route 72 as part of a $52 million contract to widen the GSP from two lanes to three lanes in each direction between milepost 64.5 and milepost 57.8 in Stafford, Eagleswood and Little Egg Harbor. This work is associated with the larger $900 million GSP Widening Program that is adding capacity along the highly traveled toll-road from Interchange 80 to Interchange 30.Construction began on the GSP Widening Program in 2009 and this phase of the project is expected to be complete in 2014.The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT's traffic information website www.511nj.org for construction updates and real-time travel information.
