The bait guys have done their job to prepare us for the weekend. We just need the fish to show and be hungry.

At 6:30 the wind is to the NNW about 15 with a chilly rain and ocean at 65.

Lots of people hoping for something to happen on this weather front but I only know of 1 bass for the derby today that was taken early this morning.

Once again today Randy M. entered a fish .

Just spoke with my favorite bunker guy who is enjoying a couple of days off. He and a buddy took a boat to Montauk to do a little fishing.

His description was it is incredable. Fish are small up to 10 pounds. I told him we have small fish here too that they are called bunker.

With so many fish around the new store hours we posted did not work out for us. We have changed them a little bit. We will try to take a break on Mon, Tues,and Thurs depending on how the fishing is that day and Wed. we will close at 2.

Looks like a lot of weather a head of us. Take advantage of the morning.

Water is 66 this am with a lite NNE wind and air temp of 54.

Rain is predicted for later and easterly winds going to the NW with gale warnings. This wind is predicted to go in to Sat.

We are hoping the bait boats get out today and we are trying with our best guess in what to order to provide you with bait during this blow.

You never know it could be unfishable or we may have alot of fish. One thing we do know is you better hang on to your hat if it is going to gust to the 40 to 50 mph they predict and find your raincoat..

How does that expression go-------you snooze you lose. We have no hats left for the 56th Classic. (Got to love it when the chairman of the committee didn't get a hat) Plenty of free slices of Panzones pizza and free car washes from Magic Wash. Plenty of great special prizes given by business and individuals for your fish. You got to be in it to win it.

A couple of changes in the website this morning. we have added a link for the sunrise and sunset and also have set up a new page for the 56th Derby. Hope you like the changes.

Winds are picking up this morning. Wind is NNE about 10. Air temp is 51 and the water still at 66.

Winds are going to keep picking up so get those heavy sinkers out look like you will need them come later tomorrow.
