Jim's Tackle Report Cape May 12-13-09
This is the last Jim's report of the season. The staff of Jim's thanks you for all your support during 2009. the only Delaware Bay action we've heard was on Brown's Shoal. They were picking up good numbers of bass on the troll and on Storm Shads.
from the Rips Frank from The Melanie Ann reported fish to 42' from Middle Shoal Monday afternoon. most of those fish were also on shad baits- Storm, Tsunami, or Calcutta.
I tried the Wildwood lump on Monday. I got no bass but trolled up a large bluefish. I then ran 5 miles out to a wreck and pulled up tog up to 4 pounds.
Capt Paul Thompson on the Porgy IV went tog fishing Saturday. He reported that the fish had moved further offshore past the Cape May reef, but he did have a good catch.
The surf action has been slow. there have been fish caught but no good solid run of fish. Hopefully the colder weather will bring some fish down the coast to us.
Thanks for everything and Merry Christmas
