Jim's Bait and Tackle report, Cape may 5-23-10 1 Mako reported
The fishing along the Cape may beached remains good. A number of 30 pound fish were brought in this week.
From Poverty Beach:
Mark Kushner 35 Lb
Don Reuter 33 1/2 lb
From Trenton Ave Beach:
Joe LaPollo 28 lb
From Baltimore Ave
Ray Tomczuk 39 1/4 lb
The fish were caught mostly on clam and at various times of the day. Also many smaller fish were also weighed.
The drum bite is still best on the Delaware side. Slaughter Beach, the coral beds and Broadkill Slough are the best places to try , especially if you can get away from the fleet.
Some fish are being caught at Tussy Slough and Pintop but Slaughter beach are is still best.
Seabass started with a bang. Capt Bill Garrison brought in a 4.62 lb fish caught by George Ravel. They limited out on seabass and had some nice cod mixed in. they were fishing a wreck about 25 miles off.
the crew of the Hammer Time weighed in a 125lb mako they caight at the Elephant's trunk. the also reported 2 blue sharks and a lot of dogfish.
