Jim's Bait and Tackle, Cape May report 11-6
Hey guys, The rips fishing was heating up until Friday when the wind picked up. Bucktails, eels, and spot all worked and these were bigger fish up to 40 lbs that came to the scales. The Delaware Bay bite was a pick but the fish are nice. The lower bay gave up two real good Bass Thursday. One was a 46lb. fish caught by Jerry Hubbs of Gloucester City NJ aboard his brother Rick's boat. The second was a 50lb. bruiser caught by a local guy Hook Le Coney Jr. of Rio Grande NJ aboard the Charter boat "Justified". Conditions were pretty rough on Saturday nevertheless some boats reported good catches of Bass further up in the Bay and close to the beach.
Some nice Bass are starting to show up on the beach as well Harry Rodanski of State College Pa weighed in a 32lb. fish he caught from the beach around Pittsburgh Ave.
The Seabass are on the wrecks in the 20 to 30 mile range with a few Codfish mixed in with them.
Blackfish are still on the Rockpiles and inshore wrecks in good numbers
Thanks, Matt
