Hey guys, Fishing in the Delaware Bay is still going strong. More short fish are starting to be caught but the big ones are there as well. The best bite seems to be on the change and the outgoing tide. There are nice fish being caught in the CM Rips around the tide changes also. In the deeper rips the fish can be picked throughout the tide but the best is when it slows down a bit. Ben Spiewak of Sicklerville NJ age 11 boated a 32lb Bass in the bay aboard his dad's boat. Sydney Unsworth of Petersburg NJ also age 11 brought in a 41 1/2lb Bass he also caught on his dad's boat. The big fish of the week was yet another 50lb Bass caught by George Boyer of Sewell NJ while fishing the Delaware Bay.
The surf is a little slow this week but there was a bird play on Cape May beach early in the week and some nice fish were pulled out of it.
Blackfish are still biting well on the rocks but the sizes are dropping. Even so we weighed a 12.37lber for Jim Schellenger of Quakertown Pa Jim caught this fish at the Cold Spring Inlet Jetty. The wrecks inshore are holding plenty of Blackfish as well.
Thanks, Matt
