We have a pod of bass about a 1/4 north of Manasquan Inlet this morning. Some short fish in the school, but reports of keeprs as well. Its more of the same with the bass and bluefish reports. Same techniques working....trolling, jigging, etc.. for the bass.
We have reports of some mako's in the area as well. The temps are right for the bigger fish with readings in the high 50's. I plan on getting out next week for some mako action myself. I like the green water makos this time of the year. Usually bigger fish and they are in the green water with the bait!! I have seen 400lb fish caught less than 20 miles off our coast over the years.
