Jersey Coast bait and Tackle, Brick NJ,Fishing report 4-11
The bass and flounder fishing in northern Barnegat Bay is better than expected! Usually we have shoolie sized bass but we have had many bass weighed in up to 18lbs this past week. They are being caught on poppers, mammbo minnows and bucktails! Most of the stripers are being caught around the Mantoloking Bridge, while the flounder are from the bridge right through the canal and into the Mansquan River. The flounder are up to 2 3/4lbs and chumming heavy has been the key.
The beaches have been quiet but we had a keeper hit the scales today that was just over 8lbs. Its still a lil early but the guys are taking advantage of the warm weather and they had a few shorts and like I said the one keeper from the beach! The area of the beach was Brick 1 Beach.
Water temps in the bay are just under 59 degrees.
