OCEAN
We had a few fishing days recently and the fluke reports were more of the same regarding the deeper water. Boats were as deep as 90 feet of water to find good keeper ratios. That 70-90ft range was key again this week for quality fluke.

The offshore report heated up this week with many boats reporting the best fishing of the year south of the Hudson. We started to see a nice patch of water making its way into the Hudson area, but the conditions have slowed donw the participation once again! Welcome to the Fall in Jersey!!! We have to make the best of the small windows we get from now until the end of the season! Plenty of tuna, mahi, mako and even some swords were boated this week. Some reports of bluefin on the AP Wreck and further inshore were beginning to surface, but that too, has been wiped out by the conditions with nobody fishing now.

BAY-RIVER
Plenty of fluke being caught with alot of shorts being reported. Blues up to 4lbs running around in the bay and bass up to 20lbs being caught near the structure! Blowfish have been hot all over the bay now and that been keeping the locals busy this week again! We have seen a good showing of tog in the canal. I was out yesterday and we did better than expected on clams.I liek to use crabs, but there were none around, so we went with clams and had about 16 fish in less than 2 hours. While fishing for tog, we saw plenty of blues and bass on the bait in the canal. Fish were busting all over the top and the bait was trying to get on land to escape!


SURF
We have some decent weigh ins thi sweek up to 16lbs now. Most of our weigh ins were on clam, but we are now starting to see some bigger fish on plugs and teasers as of this morning. The plug action has been in the dark and first light. Plenty of fluke int he surf, mostly shorts with an occasional keeper mixed in here or there!
