I have been one busy dude this month. At last a day off to get caught up. Ocean and weather conditions have been very good. The fishing also has been very good.
We have had some nice catches on Fluke up to 25.5 inches. The Fluke have been from 3 miles out to 8 miles off the beach. There has been Bluefish in the inlet early in the morning under birds. We have stopped to throw metal and bag some bluefish in the 2 to 3lb range. On light tackle its a blast. We have had some big Croakers up to 18 inches and big numbers of these fish. They are in 25' of water out to about 50' of water. The bigger fish are in 40 to 50ft. I've done a few SHARK trips fishing for Brown sharks. The action has been real good these sharks have been around 4ft and a couple have been closer to 5ft. On light spinning tackle its fun to chase these fish around the boat a couple times then put the gaff in its lip take the hook out snap a picture and let it go. Over all the fishing has been very good.
Well I guess its that time of year to start thinking about the fall run of STRIPED BASS. I have all ready booked a few trips and have gotten calls asking for info. I'll be sailing out of UTSCH'S MARINA in CAPE MAY NJ starting October 15th and will be STRIPER fishing there until December 11th. We will be fishing in and around the Cape May Rips. If your interested give me a shout.
What's up flies. I put a bucket of chum in a chum bag and dip it over the side. I put the chum over while I'm getting the rods rigged up. that gets the slick going so that as soon as the bait goes in we are ready. Its a lot of fun using lighter tackle. try it sometime.
good stuff fish tale. i like your posts b/c i fish the same area although i dont catch as much, but i have seen u at the inlet a few times. keep posting the great info
Basshole, What kind of boat are you running? What is the name of the boat? Where do you keep the boat. I'll try to keep the info coming. Next time you see me out there give me a shout on the radio. Talk later. Good luck.
