August has been a busy month. The ocean and weather has been very good so we have been fishing every day.

There has been a lot of mornings that we have had birds over Bluefish in the inlet as we are heading out to the fishing grounds. The fish are about 2 to 3lbs and are fun on light tackle. It does not last long but we are getting a few fish casting metal under the birds.

If you are looking for something different to do next year in August. lets go SHARK fishing for BROWN SHARKS. We use light spinning tackle, steel leader a 7/0 hook a chunck of fish for bait, a 5 gal. bucket of chum and hang on. Most of the fish are about 4 to 5 ft, weight is around 30lbs and they have a nice set of teeth. We only need to be a few miles off the beach to find them and they fight hard. They are not eatable its just for the sport of getting one to the boat get a gaff in its lip take a picture and let it go. I've done several of these trips this month and it has been very good action.

We have had some good catches on Fluke and these fish have been mixed in with Croakers. We have had Fluke up to 25.5 inches and Croakers up to 18 inches.

The Weakfish are all over the place but the majority are small. We have on a couple days lucked into a few Weakfish that were big enough to keep. The bigger weakfish will be coming soon.

The calls are all ready starting to come in for fall Striper fishing. A few dates are booked. Now is the time to make your plans for the fall run of STRIPED BASS. I will be sailing out of UTSCH'S MARINA in CAPE MAY NEW JERSEY from October 15th until December 11th. We will be fishing the RIPS off Cape May Point and any other places that will be holding STRIPERS. Give me a call if interested.
