Fishing Report for November 23rd
November 23rd, 2010 by Indian River Marina

Although Offshore action has for the most part ended for the season, Inshore and Inlet fishing is still taking place.

In the Inlet, Anglers are catching Striped Bass (Rockfish) and tog from both boats and off of the rip rap along the inlet.

This week the IRBA is holding their third annual Turkey Week Striper Tournament out of the marina. So far there are reports of Stripers up to 18 pounds being brought into the scales. We’ll be sure to post the winning boats information and their catch at the end of the tournament.

Inshore Stripers, Sea Bass, Tog and Blues are being reported. Stripers have been caught on everything from stretches, live eels and spot. A reminder that fishing for Striped Bass (rockfish) must take place no more than three miles off the coast and if you decide to head further offshore for other species, land your Stripers ashore before going out past the three mile limit.

Capt John Nedelka on the “Karen Sue” reported a good catch for the Mike Diehl party of York, PA on Monday the 22nd. Capt Nedelka reported that the party had 42 Sea Bass, 10 Tog and a large Bluefish. Not a bad days fishing and Congratulations to the Happy Anglers.

Remember there still are Charter Boats that fish throughout the winter, so if you wish to shake off the cabin fever be sure to book a charter for some winter tog fishing.
