It seems tyo me over the last few years most of the bass have stayed pretty close and the big schools haven't made it to the outerbanks. What have you guys been seein? Was thinkin about runnin down if there still around. peace
the fish have been staying up north over the past couple of years. Myself and several other boats from Carolina have moved up to Va.Beach for the winter season.
Thats not too say that you can't catch them out of Oregon inlet but it is not consistant enough for me to stay there. Plus the run to the fish is so much further. Being in Va. gives my charters more fishing time and less boat riding.
Hopefully they will show back up down the coast one year soon, as I am sure they will, everything is on a cycle. The past couple of years the Bass have stayed around into the second week of March pretty good.
Good luck,
Troy

The schools have been constantly here 8-20nm offshore evry year so the stocks are both here and there but some never see the coastline. don't worry they'll be around for a while
Last season we had an unusually warm season, this weekend there was a huge school of large Striper off Corolla Light. They have since moved South about 12 miles. If we get another arctic snap and the water temps go below 42 to 43 they will push towards Oregon Inlet .Three winters ago I was running 65 miles South to get some pullage.
