Hook'em & Cook'em
Fishing Report - Updated: 2/9/2012
Current Report: 2/9/2012
The latest word on fishing is that there have been some rock fish caught around the area.
The best place right now is in Ocean City off the beach trolling. Sources say there have been many 30-40 lbs caught there.
The inlet was showing some improvement over the week-end into the beginning of the week with more keepers showing up.
Over the past week-end Dom Constantino said that his father and a friend caught their limit out in front of the Inlet. These fish were caught with bombers.
He also said he caught a keeper back in the bay. Whereabouts....unknown. He is keeping that secret to himself.
Artificial lures are still the way to go since it is hard to come by fresh bunker.
Tautog are still being caught out on the wrecks. Some days are good, some days are not so good. Starting Feb 11th the new regulations begin for tog. These fish will now have to be 16" to keep and you are only allowed 5 per person.
Another change for those who catch their own bait, you are not allowed to harvest herring this year.
Fish and Wildlife has put in an emergency regulation to stop all possession of herring in Delaware. However, tackle shops will still be able to purchase from states that are legally allowed to catch and sell.
Just make sure when you buy it you have a receipt of purchase. I have been told by a Marine Police officer that they be cracking down on this.
