Grumpy's Tackle fishing report Seaside Park 9-5
Got the blues?
Monday, September, 5, 2011 at 3:42AM
You can get em on the beaches. We have more than a few customers that are loving these small blues in the smoker. Poppers, mullet and metals seem to be the favorite but cut bunker will do the job too. We are getting reports of some amazing blowfish catches. Be sure to bring those light rods when you go crabbing.
The evil weatherman is out to punish us for the run of nice weather. Not that he ever focuses on doom & gloom but - Cloudy. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning...then a chance of showers with a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Humid with highs in the upper 70s. South winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent. Yeah, sure.
Mike has discovered that life is like a doughnut - you are either in the dough or in the hole.

Humid today - cooler at the beach!
Plenty of small blues reported yesterday with one fella having to replace the hooks on his Stillwater Poppers. A good problem to have. The Fluke bite was good but the keeper ratio could have been better yesterday. The number of blowfish in the bay after all these years of none at all is simply amazing. Bring that light rod when you go crabbing and double the fun.
The weather idiots are getting frustrated because they cant find any rain to spoil a holiday weekend - Partly sunny. Humid with highs in the mid 80s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph.
The Fisherman Magazine e-NEWS PLUS newsletter, September edition has a great video on how to work a PENCIL POPPER! (And a lot of other stuff too!). If you dont get this, get on the list because they have lots of intersting things in it every month. Anyway, this video is a good introduction into an effective type of fishing. Click on this link:
