Grumpy's Tackle fishing report Seaside Park 10-20
Happys Tackle is Back!! Bass to 22 pounds!
Thursday, October, 20, 2011 at 12:19AM
The boys are away for a week testing rods in Trinidad so it′s just Paul and I. Feel free to stop by and say hello!
Heard several reports yesterday of big blues in the white water along with a couple really nice bass. We did have a nice 22+ lber weighed-in. Was out Tuesday on the boat and it sure looked like the spring out there.. Bunker all over the place with Bass and Blues tearing through them. Hopefully the bait sticks around so the surf guys get into them. Winds look to shift out of the W/NW this weekend so be ready! Here′s the forecast for today.. Partly sunny and breezy and less humid with highs in the upper 60s. Southwest winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.......Ray

Looks like a wet one.
Looks like a good Bass day too! One sure thing, if you fish in the wind and rain today, you will not have to deal with the crowds. Yesterday was pretty peaceful too (everybody was waiting for the gnarly weather?). Some Blues around ranging from a couple of pounds to OMG look at that thing. The night shift has been getting some Bass too but they dont make it back to the store before closing time at 10.
More stuff has arrived and more is coming! Some new T-shirts went up yesterday, more rods today and a lot more boxes to open! Be sure to tell Ray to work faster.
The evil weatherman has his version of a perfect day in this forecast - Showers. Windy with highs in the upper 60s. East winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of rain near 100 percent.

I am doing you all the favor of taking Mike away tonight for a week of rod testing. Unfortunately, I will be bringing him back. Hopefully, a week of Tarpon therapy will make him a changed man.

With the way he′s been forgetting things ( according to him we were supposed to leave yesterday )I′m going as the adult supervision. He brought the phone home three times last week. Make sure you mention that to himand see what he says. I wouldn′t be surprised if Nike and Ike weren′t out dancing in the street in front of the store today. As far as being a changed man I think he′s right. I′m going to come back a nice shade of golden brown............. See you in a week

Pretty quiet - not surprised!
A typical Monday in the Park with a shortage of fishermen. While we did get a couple of Bass on the scale, info is scarce when the fishermen dont show up. A couple of guys did figure out that you can catch fish without a bird in sight! They just walked the beach casting instead of chasing birds all day and did very well with the blues.
Don′t forget about the Berkeley Striper Club CATCH & RELEASE TOURNAMENT. All the details are in the store.
This is the latest from the weather idiots - Partly sunny. Highs around 70. West winds 5 to 10 mph... becoming southeast this afternoon.
Mike is finally holding all the cards - pity everybody else is playing chess!

Seems Mr infallible has hit a bump in the road. I guess his count down clock is off by 24 hours. Please make sure you call him today and ask him what he will be doing at 12:00 pm on Wednesday afternoon. See if he will be fishing for tarpon or doing something else. Sure would like to hear his explanation for this one..`
