We got fish (and wind)!
Saturday, November, 28, 2009 at 4:01AM
The rainy morning and windy afternoon kept the crowds down (they all went to the mall?) but a reasonable number of anglers made an appearance and they caught a reasonable amount of fish. The blues in the 10 lb range hit the beaches if not the scale and were taking bunker and assorted metals. The bass came out to play also with Grumpy Clams and assorted metals getting most of the attention. The hot spots got really hot at times with some silly fishing for maybe half an hour. The problem is, the hot spots changed location all day. You have to be on the beach to find em. Forget looking for birds, put a clam in the water, grab a plugging rod with a teaser and some metal and get busy. These fish are on the sand eels and visual clues may be scarce.
Woke up to a howling wind did ya? It will ease off this afternoon. The good news is that it will be at your back so your casting from the beach will get a free assist. Here is the weather idiots version - Mostly sunny and very windy. Highs in the lower 50s. West winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
Mike sure had a lot to say yesterday. Well, he talked a lot but didn′t say much. As a child, he must have been vaccinated with a phonograph needle!
