The rivers and bay are open for Bass today!

Another sure sign of spring which is omly 19 days away!There were still some patches of ice in protected locations in the bay yesterday but we have a little help from Mother Nature today and to tell you the truth, we deserve it for what she has put us through this winter!
So, of course you have all your stuff ready. All your reels have fresh line and are working just fine. You remembered to get that broken guide repaired on that rod you put in a corner last year. All your tackle is sorted out and neatly put away in boxes. All those rusty hooks have been changed and you put fresh teasers on all those plugs. It feels so good to have all that done now and not at the last minute like last year, and the year before, and the year before........yeah right!
While we are talking fiction, here is todays forecast - Partly sunny and windy. Highs in the mid 40s. Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. They gave up on snow today and decided to exaggerate the wind!
Speaking of wind reminds me of Mike! Did you know that Mike was part of the climate study on global warming. Excessive hot air emanations!

They stopped trying to study Grump seems there was TOO much excessive hot air emitted from both ends.
Berkeley Striper Club has their flea market coming this Sunday at the Hugh M Boyd grammar school in Seaside Heights. There should be a mess of plug builders there along with alot of new and used fishing equipment. I′ll fill in the details during the week....Mike

The last day of February at last!
What a mean month! Where is Al Gore when you need some of his global warming? I hope that is it for snow for the season. It sure was more than enough for me.
Monday, the rivers and bay are open again for Bass! Ocean water temps are in the upper 30s in spite of all the nasty weather. Are you ready? Got fresh line? All the broken stuff fixed? Did you remember to register? If you are 16 years old or older you have to do it and it only takes a minute. Here is the website again.

We have a semi-nice day today - Cloudy. Scattered snow showers this morning...then a slight chance of rain showers this afternoon. Highs in the lower 40s. West winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation 20 percent. The idiots still seem to be rooting for more snow. Somebody tell them spring arrives in three weeks and to knock it off already!
Mike is giving me a day off by taking a day off! He spent yesterday experimenting with making his mouth a perpetual motion machine and he says I talk a lot? He likely has to put his lips in a splint today!
