Happy New Years Eve Eve!

Light winds and much warmer today so we should see a better turnout than the last couple of days. We heard of some more of those mystery fish that never make it to the scale so it would seem that we have fish in the neighborhood but none got weighed in to prove it.
The weather idiots are giving us a break from the cold, nasty wind of the last couple of days -
Partly sunny. Not as cool with highs in the lower 50s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph.
We have added a prize to the Polar Bear Bass Tournament! The first Bass weighed in for the Tournament gets an instant $100 gift card. It starts on New Years Morning and runs thru April Fools Day. $10 gets you in and there are ca$h prizes as well as the braggin rights to be had. There are plenty of good weather days all winter when you would rather be fishing so here is your motivation!
Some of the backorders are starting to show up! We got SP Minnows, Vision Eels, All sizes of Penn Battle reels and all sizes of Hodgman Pipestone Breatheable Waders in Mens regular, Mens stout and WOMENS! A bunch of other stuff too but those are the things most asked for.
Mike had nothing to say (thankfully) so it must be his memory that has failed.

Not so windy today!
The horrible wind from yesterday kept the fishermen population down to nearly none and a lot of the guys that did go didnt last all that long. No weigh-ins yesterday but I attribute that to a shortage of fishermen more than a lack of fish. Ocean water temps are still holding just below 50 so there is still time to get in on some of this incredible fall run we have had. Skinny metals with the all important teaser is still the best bet!
The evil weatherman came up with this - Mostly sunny in the morning...then becoming mostly cloudy. Highs in the mid 40s. West winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

Mike has quit working on his New Years resolutions due to memory shortages. He says its the computer, I say its him.

Still Plenty of Bass!
The incredible fall run continues and I dont see an end to it yet. It certainly has calmed down from the peak when it was just silly fishing but the bigger bass are here if you are willing to look for them! Skinny metals with the all important teaser is still the best bet but guys using assorted plugs have been scoring as well. The rain that kept most guys home yesterday is gone but you will have a strong west wind (it makes you look like you took casting lessons). The fish have been in a different area every day but the early morning bite has been good. The Bass are migrating and you should be moving around too!
The evil weather idiots have this worst case scenario -
Mostly sunny and very windy. Highs in the upper 40s. West winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

Mike has stopped wrinting his list of New Years resolutions. Spell check wanted to know what language he was trying to type.

Fish Early, Rainy later!
Yup, there are still Bass to be caught! Skinny metals and teasers are still getting the job done. All fall, there has been a good bite right before (and during) rainy weather. We had a couple of weigh-ins yesterday and heard of a lot of fish going into the box from Lavallette all the way down through IBSP. I dont know why these guys are not weighing in and collecting a wooden nickel? The guys that have been cashing them in are pretty happy about them. The ocean water temps are just under 50 so get off the couch and go find them before winter hits.
The evil weatherman came up with this -
Partly sunny in the morning...then cloudy with rain in the afternoon. Windy with highs in the lower 50s. South winds 10 to 15 mph...increasing to 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph in the afternoon. Chance of rain 80 percent.

Back to fishing!
I trust we all had a good Christmas and if you are anything like me, ate just a little more than was comfortable. Well, you can get out on the beaches and get some exercise today and maybe bring home a Bass for todays dinner. No weigh-ins yesterday (we were closed remember) which was the first day with no weigh-ins in weeks (if not months).
Here is the latest from the weather idiots - Sunny and windy. Highs in the upper 40s. Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

I now have a lump of coal sculpted in Grumps likeness. I don′t know how mother nature did it but it is perfect.....
