So much for the heat wave!

Not bad at all today, just nothing like the shirtsleeve weather this last weekend. I was surprised that we didnt see any weigh-ins yesterday. There were a couple of reports of Bass going into the box but they must have been those mystery fish that never get to the scale. Ocean water temps are in the mid 40s and thee sandeels are still around.
The weather idiots decided on this - Mostly cloudy. Highs in the lower 40s. Northwest winds 5 to 10 mph...becoming south this afternoon.
We have three Bass weighed in for the Polar Bear Tournament so far. It is scored by the total weight of your three best fish so there is plenty of time to get on the scoreboard.
Its not too late to enter the Polar Bear Bass Tournament! It runs until April Fools Day and it is only $10 to enter! There are plenty of decent weather days all winter where you will wish you were fishing so this is a good (excuse) reason to get off that couch!
Mike has been working on improving his computer skills. Its not all good because he keeps trying to enter his password into the microwave.

Yet another pretty day!
Not as warm as yesterday but sure is a ton better than that white stuff that will be coming sooner or later. There was an early morning bite on the local beaches on assorted artificials yesterday. We had one lovely dinner sized Bass on the scale and I heard of quite a few more but never saw them. Dont know why they are not weighing them in because I figure any January keeeper Bass is braggin rights material.

Its a veritable heat wave!
Now, where are the fishermen? The cold snap earlier this week cut the beach population down to nearly nothing. Judging by the number pf phone calls we have been getting, there is a ton of interest in catching some Bass. If you are waiting for everybody else to be catching them before you go then we will see you in May! If you want to go out and look for some January Bass then grab the rods and hit the beaches anytime the weather is reasonable. If you want to dead stick bait, use a salted clam and hi-lo rigs with a smaller hook. Bring those lighter plug rods and throw an assortment of plugs, needlefish and skinny metals. The Sandeels are still plentiful and the Herring are too far off the beaches to worry about.

Balmy Today!
And the weekend looks to be even nicer. The cold snap earlier this week shut down the fishermen but I suspect we still have fish to be caught. There are herring running sorta offshore which has the birds pretty excited but the sand eels are still here and if we get some guys on the beaches, I think they will find some Bass.

Slippery when white!
A little surprise dusting of that white stuff overnight. The roads are clear but there are some slippery spots. This is not the first time it has snowed so drive appropriately. The brutal cold is outta here so I hope we see some fishermen today. There were only two absolute diehards that I know of out yesterday. Sandeels are still all over the place so skinny stuff would be a good option. There are some herring but they have been well out of casting distance.

76 days till spring!
Cold one this morning! Polar Bear Tournament or not, you may want to wait till later if you were going out looking for those straggler Bass this morning. At least there is none of that white stuff!
