Still Catching Bass!
Monday, January, 2, 2012 at 3:52AM
Winter Hours - Monday thru Saturday - 6AM till 9PM
Sunday - 6Am till 6Pm
I expect that we will see some fishermen today and likely have to hang the scale up again! The fishing looks to be far from over as long as we have some fishermen trying. The Ocean Water temps are hanging in the upper 40s and the sandeels are still here.
Doug Marshall had the first weigh-in for the Polar Bear Bass Tournament yesterday! You can still get in it and there is plenty of time to get on the scoreboard. The Tournament ends on April Fools Day. Ca$h prizes and braggin rights to be had so come up with $10 and fill in an entry form at the store.
The weather idiots are gonna exagerate the wind today -
Mostly sunny and windy. Highs in the lower 40s. West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
Mike didnt annoy me at all yesterday - he wasnt here!

Happy New Year!
All the best wishes for the New Year from all of us to all of you!
New Years Day hours - 4:30am till 6pm
Are you signed up for the Polar Bear Bass Tournament?I starts this morning and runs till April Fools Day. The FIRST BASS weighed in for the tournament gets an instant $100 gift card. It looks very possible that that could happen today!
We had a couple of Bass on the scale yesterday and conditions look good for today. There seems to be plenty of stragglers around from the stupendous fall run we had last year. Doubtful that anybody alive remembers a fall run that good. I am hearing that there is still a good body of fish to the north of us and there are even some blues mixed in. Maybe this should be called the never ending run?
The weather idiots are behaving today - Sunny and breezy. Highs in the mid 50s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph...increasing to south 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon.
Dont forget to re-register with the State! It is all explained on the website especially FAQ no.4. Dont call us to ask questions, we will just have to read the website anyway. You have to do this if you are Striper fishing so just do it and skip the belly-aching.

If you are an Out of State fisherman - The cost of the Beach Buggy Permit will be $225. For New Jersey residents, the fee will remain at $195.
Dont let Mike tell you that I picked on him all last year. I skipped yesterday!

If you are an Out of State fisherman - The cost of the Beach Buggy Permit will be $225 on the first of the year. If you renew by New Years eve the cost remains at $195. For New Jersey residents, the fee will remain at $195.
If you are looking to take a Bass on the last day of the year, I think your chances are good. The weather forecast has the usual extreme worst case of rain but it really is not gonna be an all day event. Dont forget, all fall long, the rainy days have had some of the best surf fishing ever! I expect to see a lot more fishermen yesterday than we had. Even with the light turnout, we had one bass on the scale and heard of others that went into the box but never made it to the scale. There were some Herring around before the couple of days of wind this week. You may want to try some shads or swimmers if you are tired of throwing skinny metals all fall.
Here is what the idiots came up with - Showers early, then partly cloudy for the afternoon. High 54F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 60%.

Happy New Years Eve Eve!
Light winds and much warmer today so we should see a better turnout than the last couple of days. We heard of some more of those mystery fish that never make it to the scale so it would seem that we have fish in the neighborhood but none got weighed in to prove it.
The weather idiots are giving us a break from the cold, nasty wind of the last couple of days -
Partly sunny. Not as cool with highs in the lower 50s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph.
We have added a prize to the Polar Bear Bass Tournament! The first Bass weighed in for the Tournament gets an instant $100 gift card. It starts on New Years Morning and runs thru April Fools Day. $10 gets you in and there are ca$h prizes as well as the braggin rights to be had. There are plenty of good weather days all winter when you would rather be fishing so here is your motivation!
Some of the backorders are starting to show up! We got SP Minnows, Vision Eels, All sizes of Penn Battle reels and all sizes of Hodgman Pipestone Breatheable Waders in Mens regular, Mens stout and WOMENS! A bunch of other stuff too but those are the things most asked for.
Mike had nothing to say (thankfully) so it must be his memory that has failed.
