Grabbed Noel from work Friday afternoon and cracked the inlet about 5. Found the bunker and crashing bass off Spring Lake and went to work. Picked up 5 and missed about the same, first bass for Noel.
Saturday morning shot out early with Dad and Kyle, found the fish where we left 'em. Beautiful morning, no wind and the bait was very cooperative. Cracked the inlet at 5, by 6 we had 15, mostly doubles and triples. The bite slowed, so we headed in and were back at the dock by 7:30.
Sunday night, conditions were tough with a 3-4' chop, but the bite was on. Bunker were deep, we a had hard time staying with them. But every bait was quickly inhaled, never seen so many big bass marks on the machine. Ended up with a dozen, including the first bass for the Zawada's, and Kyles personal best at 38 lbs.
So three bass cherries popped, and Kyles biggest to date. Heading out tonite with 3 12 year old's, wish me luck
My kid anglers got 'er done last night, batting a thousand on their first 5 bites. But then the law of averages and their own big mouths caught up with them and they missed the next 5
Well, I though it was over after a 10 day drought and some warm water, but picked up 5 last night and an all out blitz off Asbury tonite brought the liveline total to 63 for the season so far. Sorry no pics, wish I had the camera because the wife was with me tonite and the bass were all over the surface
