GREAT SEA BASSING and BEAUTIFUL DRUMMING - ADAM BOMB 6/4
The ADAM BOMB III had Kevin Hellerick's private group aboard today with his daughter Loren, Mike, Kevin, and Greg. Fishing was very good! We fished three different hangs, two of which were very good, and one was fair.
We caught over 250 sea bass, keeping 72 nice fish to over 4lbs. for the table, as well as a couple fat toggies! Awesome job, guys!
This evening, we had a great group of guys aboard the ADAM BOMB III for some drum fishing. Chris Graham booked the boat for himself, Jay, Joe, and Dave. What a beautiful night it was! We started off getting bites right away, and Jay put the first drum on the deck...around 15lbs. or so. Chris followed that fish with a carbon copy. Then, while talking some togging with Dave and myself, Chris stuck the hook in a BIG fish! We thought it was a real big bass. She ran around quite a bit, broke water a couple times, and then we saw that beautiful bronze back! Chris got this fish in the boat, and she went over 70lbs.! He released her to fight another day, which is great to see!
Dave was looking for his first drum ever, and he stuck the hook in a couple that came unbuttoned. Then, he put the hook in this big girl, and did some fancy foot work, putting his first drum in the boat that went just over 60lbs.! This fish was also released!
He also stuck another pretty one...this one looks a bit like a Roosterfish!
It was an absolutely gorgeous night on the water. Flat calm and warm conditions, and a steady bite for the entire trip. We ended up with over ten drum hooked up, lots of other bites, and put six in the boat with one over 60lbs., one over 70lbs., and four others between 15lbs. and 25lbs. They kept one for the table, and released the rest to fight another day!
Awesome job, guys! Can't wait 'till next time. The bluewater is calling!
