Marty, thanks for the response. We had a great late fall and winter tog season. Fishing was very good with quality fish taken on every trip. I intend to be back after them and stripers on March 20th. I can't wait.
weekender, thanks for the reply! Can't wait for spring.
Wavewalker, I stayed in until about the 20th of March, but had to relocate to another dock in the beginning of January. The boat isn't in the water yet, but we plan on being ready real soon!
cw-dog, I agree. There are big blackfish on lots of even the heavily pressured wrecks. Getting them to chew is the tough part. However, with the right baits and boat position, you can often get them to bite! I am looking forward to catching some more big blackfish this spring!
sometimes i sit and think, and sometimes i just sit

pretty work on the rubber lips there capn!!!!! can you tell me what the water temp and depth you were fishing if you dont mind?? if so, no biggie- just trying to figure out where i need to go down here. again-nice togs
Miles, thanks for the reply! Catching big tog like that is a blast, and we'll be chasing some of them down in April/May this spring as well. The water temperature offshore when we caught those fish in January was from 39 to 42 degrees on the surface. The bottom temperature was probably in the mid-40's, as well. We caught fish inshore around 70ft., but had the most consistent action between 90 and 100 ft. depths offshore.
