Went out this morning with my dad and his wife norma and we were greeted with flat calm seas. Norma wanted to catch a flounder and so I headed off to the far side to give them a try. Absolutly no current and no wind so I deceided to bag it and head way south for some rocks and blues then to go look for drum. We tore up the rocks and blues. Easily caught a limit of rocks jigging, deceided to only keep four. We caught the rocks jigging on the bottom of breaking blues. The bluefish were really thick today down south and every cast yielded a hook up and double's were the norm until I switched to single rigs. Easily caught 80 or so blues and 30-40 rock. Deceided to hit a spot and try some light tackle red drum fishing and was rewarded with two very nice red drum. One went 22lbs on the boga and the other fish was easily 40pounds. Bottomed out the boga without a problem. We also hooked up three other drum that broke off. My dad and his wife tag teamed the big one and we had a fantastic day. All fish were caught south of buoy 72.
