Capt Rich Falcone called todays Striper Fishing “AS GOOD AS IT GETS!” With a large crowd of Golden Eagle Fishermen, Capt Rich headed the Golden Eagle South and soon ran into big schools of nice bass! Everyone on board limited out and by later in the trip keeper size bass were being thrown back over the rail and more hooked up! Even though the boat traffic was heavy and the private boats insisted on running full throttle through the schools of fish, the bite was ON. The fishing was insane on jigs, commented a GE regular who had a limit early and played catch & release the rest of the day. The keeper to short ratio was around 6:1….Awesome. In addition, about 100 or so big blues came over the rail. If you want to catch the Stripers, NOW IS THE TIME! THE BITE IS ON!

The Golden Eagle sailed today with a decent crowd and Capt Rich Falcone got them on the Stripers! Jigs produced 15 nice keeper bass to around 28lbs and threw back 29 shorts for a total striper tally of 44 Stripers not including the ones that got away! To add to the action several dozen big blues crashed the party and were put over the rail! STRIPERTHON TOMORROW! 6AM-3ish

Oct. 31st, 2011 STRIPERTHON!

Capt Rich Falcone reported in early today with an interim report of 20+ stripers being caught this morning. With no top water life to go after Capt Rich took the Golden Eagle to the north this morning and started a good pick of bass, mainly shorts with a few keepers on clams. As the day wore on and a few moves the Golden Eagle fishermen ended up with 41 stripers caught with 8 keepers. We sure would like to see the keeper ratio higher but there was plenty of action for the small group we had on board today! No blues were caught and we did have some big skates that invaded from time to time but not a bad day with 41 stripers.
