The playing “hard to get” blues bit for a little while least night with the Golden Eagle and the rest of the fleet taking only a few fish. We are reading large schools of fish that should start biting like crazy any day now.

Capt. Rich reported a fun catch toady of several hundred small blues in the 2 to 5 lb class on small jigs and teasers providing good fun action for our customers today. This should be a god sign of the bite getting back on track!

Truth in Reporting....There havent been many bluefish reports because no one wants to post bad reports!

Truth be told, bluefishing has been tough! We are catching some blues on the day trips on jigs and some bait. We are not catching what we should based on the amount of fish we are reading. The fish just dont seem to be participating as well as they should.

Night trips have been inconsistant with some nights producing a catch and other nights that have been plain bad.

The good news is that the bite will get better, and can any day as its that time of year when things will turn around and it will be ON!
