Post Get ready for racer bluefish

Saltwater fly fishers can expect the arrival of big racer bluefish in our area in the next week as traditionally these fish are on the heels of the mackerel that are moving north. The bluefish that are first to show are usually in the 2- to 4-pound range, but then the mature, lean adult racers in the 5- to 10 pound range quickly appear to gorge themselves on the abundance of bait that is found in the warmer waters of our back bays.
