Get ready, the conditions are getting better every day
John Baker and friends had some small blues in the inlet today and then off to the reefs for sea bassing. The day was gorgeous and the fish were cooperative. We were able to keep more than we threw back. The water temp was 61 and in places 62. There are a load of big blues out along the 20 line and it seems that the stage is set for the big black eyed toothy critters,( Makos) this coming week. Guys at the cigar had all the blues they wanted and i believe that those blues are the food of choice for the big old black eyed guys. I will be sharking this Wednesday and I believe it will be a happenin thang! I do love this time of year!
Good job, Steve.
We had 3 boats looking for Makos today at 20 line. Nothing to report but blue fish and blue sharks.
Sounds like the water inside was warmer.
The Blue fish chum boats last night reported that the spiny dogfish wouldn't allow many fish to get to the baits. They did, however, move off the Cape May Reef which helped sea bass fishing.
