It never ceases to amaze me what happens when young college kids mate on my boat and begin to think. They are always trying to do things a little bit different then everyone else, and they are always trying improve my current methods of fishing.
Once again on Saturday, I learned something them. We were talking about rigging up ballyhoos and finger mullet and how they are great baits to troll in the OBX. After I explained how to rig them up using a 9” sassy shad as a model, they thawed out a couple of finger mullet and ran them behind a Sea Witch daisy chain. The kids we had on the boat were growing impatient, so I figured what the heck. Then it happened, BAMM, with in 20 minutes we had six fish in the box, and only one hour after they had the idea we were cleaning fish.
