Well, We thought we would give a night time Striper trip a try.
We got some nice mullet from Chuck ( Off The Hook ) and at sunset we headed out the inlet and went to some pilings out front.
I didn't have the guts to anchor up as close to the pilings as i should have
because some of them are submerged and didn't want to take the chance.
It was important to get are baits to the pilings in order for us to have a good chance at some fish.
Well we didn't get there so we had a slow night with nothing to show for it.
Around 10:00 pm. the fog rolled in the wind picked up a little and the surf was starting to brake just past the transom so we called it a night and put the radar back on and slowly headed to the inlet.
It was a little scary with all that fog we could not even see one little light from the jetty or from shore, It was like some one dropped a black blanket over the boat.
But i trusted my radar and chart and made it in with no problems.
Next week i think i will try some poppers at the jetties !
Sorry to hear you didn't find'em Paul
Don't worry you'll get the hang of fishing the stick, hopefully your next run has better visibilty. This cold front later this week might get the ball rolling for striper season
