Fog and I just Plain Suck
Striper fishing has been awesome when good bait can be found and the weather is fishable. That's what I have been hearing in Cape May County this fall.
50lbers on a regular basis. Shoot a young lady caught a monster recently. The Borek tournament I shot 2 weekends ago had over 50 weighed in with all boats catching something. Right things looked promising for a trip out with my good buddy Chad on monday.
I should of known things were not what i planned when I woke up to the fog socked in as I drove to Off the Hook to pick up bait. Scary Fog like can't see the bridge rails driving to the bait shop.
But fog hasn't always been bad for me and fishing trips
Fog, Decisions, Chaos, Victory and Incredible Shark Fishing
One thing I will say, We had radar and my biggest fear was some guys blasting about with no radar and running in to us. visibility on the water was poor.
Also I can not believe the guy in an aluminum boat anchored up just outside the south canal jetty on radar he came up as a blip off the jetty and coming from the bay to the rock pile you had to get pretty close I wouldn't be surprised to hear someone ran these guys over.
Long story longer it was flat on the bay but very slow picking from what i heard. Their are fish in the rips, but we decided to not go as in the fog i'm sure it was a zoo.
I took a few pics. Enjoy

I know the pea soup feeling its always interesting! Glad to see you got out!
Every time I fish up in CT its always that way..
The two attached pictures were from up in CT. What a day day ...
The one picture is what we faced when head down the LI sounds and the limp back after two little 15' skiff whalers breached our bow from the west. The were directly crossing the sound and we were running south. We had a 6kw radar and didn't see them until the popped up on our side in visual range. Dropped the throttles back so fast clipped reverse and literally smoked both motors
