    Fluke / Sea Bass Report

So we decided after last weeks successful Fluke and Seabass trip that we would give it another try. As we headed out this morning I started to think today was the day for an offshore trip, flat calm and little wind. We headed right back to the mud dump same as last trip and started a slow pick. Prior to getting to the grounds we ran through a large pod of Porpoises crashing an unknown bait. This was only 2 miles off the beach. Awesome!!! As we were fishing pulling some nice knuckleheads we had a pod of Bunker surface near the boat being chased by a mix of huge bluefish and some Albies. Threw some metal only to hook up with the some monster yellow eyes and no Albies. That only lasted 30 minutes and they were gone. Went back to Fluke and Bass and next thing you know an Ocean Sunfish swims right up to the boat to give a wave. Figured the only thing we had to see now was a whale and with that; one started crashing Bunker while jumping clear out of the water. Amazing sight to see a Fin-Back get out of the water like that. Got into a few more Blues round the Bunker and then they were gone again. Went back to Bass and Fluke and had a slow pick with a seven Bass going to 3lbs and four keeper Fluke up to 26”. Again the same as last time. Not a lot of fluke; but the ratio was about 1:2 for keepers. Awesome day on the water, tons of life around, God Bless the USA.
