The striper fishing on the beach has picked up again. Gary Hill from Sicklerville,NJ brought 5 nice bass to the scales with the largest weighing 30#. Most of the fish are being taken on surf clam but a few real hogs have been caught on fresh bunker or live spot. The best bite has been on the incoming tide in the afternoon, but in a few days that tide will be at sunrise. The rips are also producing some great fish on live bait.
Drumfish are increasing in size and numbers on the Delaware side of the bay. Joe Rudd caught 6 yesterday afternoon on the incoming tide; 84# was his largest.
John Willets reported catching 9 keeper fluke at the Old Grounds yesterday. I'm sure many anglers will be glad to hear that news with the JCAA fluke tournament this Saturday.
I wish I had some better news for you shark fisherman but only afew bluesharks have been taken the last couple of days.
