Oct. 3-4: Local fish swimming in a 32,000-gallon research aquarium and child-friendly sea life in touch tanks are some of the things to see when tthe James J. Howard Marine Sciences Laboratory opens its doors to the public. The open house from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday includes talks by staff scientists of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and displays by local marine science and environmental groups.
