Saltwater Report:

Well you know what the report is don't you? It's like this no one fishing or at least no reports from sand or boat. One a brighter note it looks like it is going to get a bit warmer as the week goes on. The weather people say 48 on Thursday. That will be nice for everyone but the people who are ice fishing.

Nothing from the surf as the beaches were empty or so I was told. Did hear that the party boaters done pretty good with the mackeral and blackfish this weekend. For those who need to get out of the house there is one bright light coming up, The Garden State Outdoor Sportsmen's Show is this week. It runs from Thursday Jan 14 to Sunday Jan 17 at the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center in Edison. There will be free seminars and tons of exhibits.

Don't forget to register with the National Saltwater Angler Registry Program at www.countmyfish.noaa.gov or you can call toll free 888-674-7411 if you have not already. I registered on Jan 1 and it took all of 5 minutes. Just print the card or take the registry number down so you can fish now. Then in about 30 days they state you will receive a waterproof card. At least this year it is free but next year the federal goverment is looking at a $15 to $20 fee.

Few reports of crappie and bass being caught through the ice, but where who knows as no one is saying.

Had a report of a few bass pulled from the ice but guess what? Yeah you are right wouldn't tell from where. I have had some good reports that a lot of the local lakes do have some good ice now. Only thing is no one is saying where. One guy I was talking too told me he didn't want to tell me because if he did there would be a million people there and right now he is the only one fishing the ice.
