Fishermen Fishing Report:Striped Bass 9/25/10
It's great too be back in the game!!
Anchored the boat on our first drop and had the bite right away....Shorts to start out then a couple keepers. Lost the current and had to wait for the change. We did catch the change of tide bite once again, lasted another 45 minutes then died.
Took one last look around and found the best action of the day **** keepers, shorts, Porgies and Big Sea Bass coming in!!
12 year old Alec George, Middletown, N.J. had the hot hand landing 5 fish, 3 keepers and the Pool fish!!!
Very clean, healthy looking fish. The shorts were the fish we didn't catch in the spring, but seemed to have shown up for the fall.
Great way to start out the season!!
Sailing daily 7:30am........First video is linked.

Hey there FISHERMAN
Hi Mr. Santee, I am thrilled to click on your report! Your boat has been part of my wife's and my party boat fishing history for 25yrs. as yours was the first one she and I went out chumming blues ! It was November no less, it was a beautiful day and the yellow eyes were HUGE. All were close to 20lbs, and everyone on board was catching. It's funny but I remember my wife actually hoping not to get another one hooked 'cause she was so tired of the hefty fight they put up. We have pics of the event and I thought you might want to see them. I'm a fairly new member of this site and I am so happy I found it. So many friendly folks with so much great help with info on this sport that I'm obsessed with.
In 1995 I purchased a Bayliner Trophy 2002 and have been out there to the BA, the Farms, Shrewsbury Rocks, 17fathoms, Btw the channels, Flynn's Knoll, Romer Shoal, and in ALL seasons. Seen lots of rough seas, had USCG escort us around the hook in short frequency, 10ft seas that surprised us on a trip back from the Sandy Hook Reef. They shadowed us ALL THE WAY IN TO THE ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS MM (a bit embarrassing but also less frightful) So many times when we're out there we see you guys and it makes me feel good. Just recently, out at the Mud Buoy , we were anchored and chumming next to you. It was a gorgeous Sat. early in Sept. and the blues were cooperating nicely. Not quite as big as 25yrs ago on your boat but darn nice just the same. I noticed that the frozen bunker chum we were chucking did not put them in a frenzy like I wanted so I started cutting up fresh bunker we bought at The Tackle Box and chunk-ed awhile. Well that's when the frenzy of big blues began. We had a blast and judging from the cheering and hollering and gaffing going on over by you your guys were having a blast too.
Now the recent videos you posted on your report (clamming for fall stripers) are you anchored and chumming with clams? And one other thing, are you primarily fishing BTW The Channels? We usually wait for Thanksgiving to come down and drift eels, but the conditions can be horrendous for a 20ftr at that time so we're anxious to give the "early" run a try and stick to our bear and deer hunting seasons here in Pa.
I remember back then an older gentleman on your boat mingling with us guys in the galley and giving suggestions on several ways to utilize our catch. He even made some fillets in the on-board micro-wave basted in italian dressing. We've been doing that ever since. Nothing but good memories come from times on FISHERMAN ! Wondering what kind of camera you are using on board. Your shots are excellent. I have many pics of trips with you guys that I'll transfer to digital so they can be posted. And before I forget, your crew were the most courteous, patient, and helpful mates we've encountered during our years of party boating.
Sometime I'd like to quiz you on what you know about big game fish that might visit the BA,HA,FARMS,MONSTER etc. we're ready to go chase something bigger than blues n stripers and do it out of Atlantic Highlands or some other nearby port.
Sea u on the brine, david
