With the the water temperatures finally dropping and the bass showing I am running an open boat magic hour trip this Friday in the backbay. This open trip is limited to three and will run from 3 PM till 7 PM. We will spend the evening in the bay targeting bass with live bait and plastics. Tide is going to be perfect. Give me a call or shoot me an e-mail if interested.

Although the weather did limited our participation, the striped bass activity continued to improve as we progressed this week. Using both live bait and a variety of artificials provided the action. Encouragingly in the backbay, inlet and ocean we found striped bass activity in various locations signaling a good spread of fish. With our weather pattern shifting from the Indian Summer we have been enjoying to a more seasonal Fall like pattern I am anxious to see how this will end up as the coming week shakes out.

I do have 2 spots available for this Friday Night's trip for those interested in joining in on the evening fun!

Fall striper fishing is definitely underway, although the weather this week made it difficult to get out to take advantage of it. Early in the week I had Tim Rutecki in from Phoenixville, PA with 12 year olds Michael and Liam taking their first saltwater fishing expedition on Columbus Day. Beautiful conditions produced eight bass from the back bay, topped by Michael's 36" lady, before running out front and turning up blues and weakfish to complete their inshore slams. Today I had George Selph back, fishing in some rather "sporty" inlet conditions but banging a couple of nice bass to around 35". Live spot has been the bait of choice thus far in the bay, but there are plenty of schools of large bunker cruising the beach right now so a variety of other approaches should work out front. Fall's here, the fishing has started, and it should only get better from here.
