Fisherman Fred's fishing report Hamilton NJ 4-11
Saltwater Report: 4/11/2010
Stripers from the LBI, IBSP, and Seaside surf. Most are shorts but the keeper ratio is on the way up. The best bet is to fish clams right now. Jetties are producing some blackfish (tog). Did not hear from anybody that fished the Graveling Point and Pebble Beach area yesterday.

Few keepers being caught from the surf. Had reports from LBI, IBSP, Seaside and a few points north and all had keepers and a bunch of shorts. Clams is the bait of choice. Graveling Point and Pebble Beach has slowed down a bit but a few stripers are still being caught.

Few weakfish are being reported out of Barnegat Bay. Best bet is to use pink Fin-S or SPRO bucktails. Some stripers are being caught from Barnegat Bay and Raritan Bay. Clams seems to be the ticket right now but small plugs have been working as well. I didn't hear anything from any flounder guys yesterday. Crabbing is off to a good start. People are reporting good catches. The warm weather has helped that along.

Barnegat Bay is producing some good catches of stripers. Water temps are 55 to 60 now. The flounder guys are finding it harder to find fish now. It could be they are already moving towards the ocean. Raritan Bay is producing some stripers when trolling. Stretch 25 or 30s should be the ticket right now.
Fresh Water Report: 4/11/2010
Lots of people fishing opening day of trout season but few limited out. I had a report from Mike that he caught some on spinners from the canal up by the Scudder Falls Bridge. He also saw other taking trout as well. I had few other reports that spinners were working better then live bait. I had a report that the person was using a wooly bugger fly on a spinning reel had a great time limiting out. As for the others fishing some bass and crappie were reported from the local lakes.

We are open at 6AM today. Lots of people were gearing up yesterday for the start of trout season. The season opens today at 8AM. Had only a few reports yesterday. Bass and sunnies were caught from Town Center. Bass were caught from AMC and that's all I heard.
