Saltwater / Jetty Report:

8/17/2011
Some people fished in between the showers yesterday and did catch some fish. Remember fish don't mind getting wet. Also do you realize that there is only 16 days until Labor Day? Not the real end of summer but almost. If your not fishing now or soon you are sure to be shoveling snow. On to the reports.
LBI: kingfish, cow nose rays
IBSP: small blues, fluke
Jetties: blackfish, small blues, few fluke
Casino fishing pier: weakfish
Only thing I heard from boaters yesterday was that Garden State South reef produced a few fluke and sea bass and that was it.

Sunday and Monday was a total wash because of the weather. Today you should be able to get out and fish again.

Bay Report:

8/17/2011
With the run off from the rain the bays were a little slow yesterday. Did hear of some blowfish and kingfish out of Barnegat Bay. Those who tried to fish Little Egg Inlet found it was a bit hard because of the fast drift. A few did manage to caught a few fluke. Crabbing did come back but not many reports came in. Looks like a few dozen off the docks and bulkhead yesterday was the norm.

Everyone stayed at the docks Sunday and Monday because of the weather. Looks like some may get out to fish today. I have heard rumors that there has been some good fishing for weakfish lately in Barnegat Bay. Only problem is that I can not confirm it.

Yesterday some fished between the showers. Not too many reports but did have a few. Those who fished live bait done better then those who fished other baits. Miry Run had reports of some bass, pickerel, crappie, and catfish. Town Center and Gropps Lake had reports of bass and sunnies. Prospertown Lake and Etra Lake had reports of bass and pickerel. I have had some good reports about some nice channel catfish being caught from the Delaware River from around Trenton south.

Sunday and Monday basically no one fishing because of the weather. Better days to just sit home and watch TV.
