Another good day for striper fishing but not as good as it has been. Once again it was AVAs as the top choice but more info about that in the reports. Water temp this morning is 56.7. I guess not much to say this morning so let's get to the reports.
LBI started out good but slowed as the day went on. A bunch of stripers were caught on black needlefish before day break but then it went to AVAs with a black tube with a teaser or green or yellow needlefish. Also bunker in the bait dept. was also working. Most of these stripers were shorts with some keepers mixed in. Also a few bluefish were caught as well. The Harvey Cedars area seemed to be the hot spot yesterday on LBI. IBSP had another good day even though there wasn't as many people on the beach. A ton of stripers were caught on thin metals with a teaser but clams did work as well. Let's hope that after this weather front coming through on Tuesday doesn't change this epic fall striper run. I can not remember a four day Thanksgiving weekend that this many stripers were caught. It is one for the record books. Points north are also catching stripers just not in big numbers. Thin metals are the choice there as well.
Boaters had a tough time getting the stripers to cooperate yesterday. The great fishing slowed and they had to work to catch them. Most jigged because of what was basically a boat parking lot. Some moved off to find smaller schools of fish to be able to troll but when they did, once the fleet saw them catch a fish they moved to them. That doesn't make fishing too much fun. Let's hope this body of stripers turn back on the way it was for the past few days.

UPDATE 10:00AM
LBI had some nice catches this morning already and the boats were hooked up at day break. What nicer weather could you ask for. This is just striper heaven. Just throw something that looks like a sand eel, such as AVAs, Deadly Dicks, T-Hex, etc...
UPDATE 9:10AM
Already a couple of reports of stripers being caught. They were on Deadly Dicks with a black teaser this time. I am sure there will be more reports soon as people leave the beaches with their limit of stripers. And why are you reading this? you should be fishing!!!
7:45AM
Well what can I say about the striper fishing, hmmm not much because it is speaking for itself. Another day of a ton of stripers being caught from surf and boats. It was thin metals in most cases as this is the word of what you have to use. Don't be a sheep and follow the crowd as other things are working as well. Don't be afraid to use any type of lure that looks like a sand eel. Vision and Tsunami make some nice ones. So choose your weapon and go at it. Water temp this morning is 55.2. On to the reports.
LBI had stripers being caught on hopkins, needlefish, AVAs, and of course bunker. Oh what was that a hopkins you say, yes hopkins. As I stated just about anything is working now. Had one report say that he had caught a bunch of stripers and also had a few run offs on a Deadly Dick. There were also some bluefish mixed in as well. It was a pretty good day for the people fishing LBI, but IBSP was the place to be hands down. Area 23 to the pocket just went nuts yesterday. I don't know how long the blitz lasted but I was told it was just unreal. Don't discount any place the birds are working because there is most likely fish under them. Other spots along IBSP also had stripers as well. I was told second hand that some people had 20 to 30 stripers caught. Most of these fish are in the 8 to 16lb range but some go a bit bigger as well. If you use bait here use clams as bunker dosen't seem to be working that great. Did hear of some stripers being caught from Seaside, Ortley Beach, Ocean Beach, and Pt. Pleasant on AVAs and clams. If your not out there I don't know what I can say now to jump start you to be fishing. Just go out before sunrise and get home early to do what you have to do.
The Wal-Mart parking lot was pretty full yesterday. Opps I meant to say the ocean was pretty full off of IBSP and LBI with boaters catching stripers. Boaters had stripers from about the bathing beaches off of IBSP all the way down to off the red towers of LBI. Most were jigging but some trolled with sucess. Jigging it is mostly AVAs, but some are throwing Vision sand eels and Hogy soft baits with great luck. Trolling it has been tubes or Stretch 25+ plugs. Most are saying they left the fish biting because thier arms were so tired. Just be careful because of all of the boat traffic. The people who went for blackfish are doing pretty good but it is a little hard to come by reports because everybody is fishing stripers right now.

UPDATE 9:00AM
Here we go again. Just had the first report of the day that stripers are being caught from IBSP around the Judges Shack. I would bet that other places on IBSP are producing as well. We will just wait and see what kinda reports come in today.
7:25AM
WOW, EPIC, UNREAL, LEGENDARY were all words I heard yesterday from both surfcasters and boaters. It was a day to be on the beach or water and not in some mall shopping. If you got dragged shopping you can still get out there today. Thin metals with a teaser and clams was the ticket once again yesterday. Had word that some caught up to 20 stripers and had their limit in no time.Water temp is 55 this morning. Now on to the reports.
Surfcasters had a ton of stripers being caught from LBI, IBSP, and Seaside. Most of these stripers are dinner sized (28 to 34 inches 9 to 17lb) or shorts right now but there are some bigger ones as well. LBI it was thin metals with a teaser, needlefish, clams and bunker, IBSP and Seaside it was mostly thin metals with a teaser but clams did work. Point further north are also catching stripers but not in great number. The bite starts at day break and goes until about noon to 2PM or so. Don't get me wrong there are still stripers being caught afterwords or even during the night but not the hot and heavy as the mornings have been. You just need to be out fishing.
Boaters had stripers all the way from IBSP down as far south as the red towers off of LBI. Jigging was the ticket and the tube color didn't matter or just use something that looks like a sand eel. People trolling are also doing good when using tubes or Stretch 25+ plugs. Don't forget the daily limit is 2 stripers not 2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon. Also if you catch them within 3 miles then go out 3 miles to blackfish you have illegal fish, it doesn't matter where you caught them, it's where they are in your possession. If you are 3 miles out you can not even catch and release stripers. Just a FYI because I have been told that there has been a lot of law enforcement around during this striper run.

UPDATE 2:00PM
Just another killer day for stripers from the Seaside and IBSP surf. What more can I say. Also had some reports from boaters now as well. I was told that it was best if you were out early as it looked worse then a Wal-Mart parking lot on Black Friday later. AVA 47s from the boats and any type of thin metals from the surf.
UPDATE 8:40AM
Just got to the store and the phone is already ringing. IBSP is producing stripers already this morning. Here is something you should know. You don't need that green tube AVA as other colors are now working as well. Just throw something that looks like a sand eel. JUST GET OUT THERE!!!
7:20AM
Hope everybody had a good Thanksgiving and didn't eat too much. I also hope you got to go fishing as it was pretty good yesterday. Once again the broken record said stripers were caught on thin metals with a teaser above it. Also clams and bunker did work. Well what can anybody say but WOW! I have people that have fishing for a million years telling it is the best striper fishing they have ever seen. Well on to the reports.
LBI had a bunch of stripers caught when using thin metals or bunker. These fish are in the 10 to 30+ lb range. The bigger ones have been caught on bunker. Sorry but once again the place to be was the IBSP/Seaside area. Once again there were a ton of stripers being caught a lot are shorts but there are also a bunch of keepers in the mix. One report said they had 30 stripers caught between two guys. Out of that 30, 6 were of keeper size. Also hearing of scattered reports from other beaches to the north that stripers are being caught as well. So do you want to spend time at the mall or on the beach hmmmmm I would take the beach any day and don't forget there is always cyber Monday to do your shopping.
Boaters had stripers from off of IBSP all the way down to Brant Beach Lump. If you got out early because after 9AM the bite pretty much died because of people running thru the schools of fish. If you went off and found a small school you were better off. Most are jigging AVAs and any color tube seems to be producing now. People are also just casting Stretch 25+ lures are also catching stripers. Trollers also using Stretch 25+ are doing pretty good as well.
Bay Report:
11/28/2011
A great day to be on the water but not many tried fishing the bays because almost all the good action were on the outside. Only thing I heard was a few stripers were caught from the bars of Little Egg Inlet on clams.
11/27/2011
Little Egg Inlet off the bars had some stripers being caught on clams. Some spots in Barnegat Bay also produced stripers but on live eels. And that is about all I heard from the bay as most were outside fishing for striper because the weather let them.
11/26/2011
Little Egg Inlet had a bunch of stripers caught on clams but not as many as outside. Did hear of a couple of bigger stripers being caught as well. Barnegat Bay and Barnegat Inlet also had some stripers being caught on live eels.
11/25/2011
Few reports from the bays. Liggle Egg Inlet was pretty good but you had to be fishing the bars. If you didn't you didn't have any stripers. Clams were the bait of choice. Barnegat Inlet produced some stripers as well when using live eels.

Another great day but I guess football won out or everybody went to catch striers. Not many fishing and no reports came in. Looks like another nice day before some weather rolls in.
11/27/2011
Really great day and it showed as there were a bunch of people out fishing. Bass, pickerel, sunnies, crappie, catfish and even some trout were reported being caught yesterday. Yes, I said trout. Don't forget last week was the winter stocking of them. Let's see people fished Miry Run, Lake Assunpink, Lake Mercer, Town Center, Etra Lake, and AMC just to name a few.
11/26/2011
Nice day and some were out fishing. Did have a few reports from the local lakes and ponds that bass, pickerel, and sunnies are being caught on live bait such as shiners and worms.
11/25/2011
Sorry but no reports from yesterday. Looks like it will be a very nice weekend to be fishing.
