Fisherman Fred's Fishing report, Hamilton, 10-3
Saltwater / Jetty Report:
10/3/2011
Sorry for the late report but I so tied up doing something around the store I forgot about them. LBI had kingfish and smaller blues being caught. IBSP had the Governor's Cup Tournament going on. I heard a striper around 33 inches won it. I will post more when I hear who and what won. Other wise it was blues up to 4lbs. No reports from any boaters yesterday. Sorry it is that time of year where reports just drop off. Once the fall run starts it will be better.

Well the Governor's Cup Tournament is off and running. Yesterday saw a mixed bag of fish caught. Only thing is the reports are still about the same. Stripers are being caught on poppers, metals, bunker, and mullet. It depends on where you are fishing on what you have to use.
LBI: blues, kingfish, few stripers
IBSP: blues, few stripers
Ortley Beach: blues, few stripers
Pt Pleasant: blues, few stripers
Jetties: blackfish, blues, few stripers
Only thing I am hearing from boaters is reports from the canyons. Had reports of yellowfin tuna, few albacore, few dolphin, few swordfish, and even a couple of makos.

Not too much has changed from the surf. Most beaches are giving up bluefish and a striper here and there. You just have to be fishing to catch something, oh that's right football is on so you are not fishing till you hear of big stripers being caught. Too bad by then you might have missed it.
LBI: blues, kingfish
IBSP: blues, few stripers
Ortley Beach: blues, few stripers
Ocean Beach: blues
Pt Pleasant: blues, few stripers
Jetties: blackfish, blues, few stripers
Boating reports are getting really hard to come by as a lot have pulled their boats once fluke season ended.
Bay Report:
10/3/2011
The bays again gave up lots of blowfish and 1lb snappers. Didn't hear much of anything else.

Great Bay, Tuckerton Bay, and Barnegat Bay it is once again tons of blowfish being caught with some kingfish, blackfish, and bluefish thrown in. Only heard of a couple of short stripers being caught on poppers but didn't hear where. Some are strting to get crabs that are mudded up. This could be a sign that they are getting ready for the colder weather. We will just wait and see how long the crabbing stays good enough to be doing it.

Here, there everywhere is the word on blowfish in Great Bay, Tuckerton Bay, and Barnegat Bay. Clams is still the best ticket for them. Also had reports of some blackfish, sea bass, and some small stripers being caught. When I say small the biggest is about 20 inches. They are being caught on poppers. Only thing is no word on where they are being caught. People are scared of the old spot burn idea. Crabbing is ok now not so hot anymore. Some are scoring 1 to 2 dozen off docks and 1/2 a bushel from boats.

Few out fishing maybe because of the chance of rain or they just sat home to watch football. I didn't get any reports back yesterday so I guess nothing was caught or they just did send me any reports.

A bunch of people out fishing and some reports did come back. Assunpink dam at 130 had somepickerel caught. Town Center had a buch of sunnies, a few bass, and a few catfish caught. Miry Run, AMC, and Etra Lake had bass and pickerel caught. I also had other reports but not where they were fishing said bass, pickerel, crappie, and some carp were caught. Reports from the Delaware River still have it running high and fast so be careful when fishing it.

Turned out to be a nice day yesterday so there were some who tried their hand at fishing. The bad side of not many reports came in. Town C enter had some bass, sunnies and catfish caught. AMC, Etra Lake, and Miry Run had bass and pickerel caught. The Assunpink lakes had bass and crappie caught and that is all I heard.
