UPDATE 4:15PM
Nice school of stripers off IBSP/Seaside area. Been getting reports of them being caught in good numbers now. Looks like it is time to fish. Only problem is if you are going to bait fish bring the heavy rods as you need 8 to 10ozs to hold. I am now saying the fall run of stripers is on! but not real heavy yet.

UPDATE 1:30PM
Ok, I just talked to a couple of people I trust about reports. They told me they believe the fall run has started. They didn't tell me where but they told me they have had stripers for the past few days at dawn and dusk from the surf. They have also seen a bunch caught as well. I am now thinking that after the coming Saturday storm all hell is going to break loose. Let's hope this is the case. I would fish as much as you can now. Also was just told second hand that a good sized striper was caught off IBSP on bunker today.

UPDATE 10:00AM
Few stripers reported caught from Seaside Park on clams and AVAs.

9:30AM
Air temp 38 water temp 64. That says it all doesn't it. Hopefully the NE storm on Saturday will get things kick started. Just have to wait and see. Fishing was a bit better yesterday because some fish were caught. The stripers are loaded with sand eels and peanut bunker right now. So plugs and sand eel looking rigs may work better then bait. The new Cheek Chub Surfster wood swimming plug could be what you need. I have them in bunker and red head. I also have needle fish and Vision Surf Eels and Sand Eels in stock along with rigged eels.
LBI: kingfish, bluefish
IBSP: couple stripers
Ocean Beach: few stripers on teasers
Pt Pleasant: few stripers
Jetties: blackfish, few stripers
Boaters have been into some big blues from the Mud Buoy, Shrewsbury Rocks, and off of Pt. Pleasant. Also they have been doing ok with stripers when jigging or using poppers. Looks like tomorrow will be a wash because of the storm.

Bay Report:

10/28/2011
This is the word I am getting out of Great Bay area and Barnegat Bay, seems you have to be there when the stripers are there. Wednesday was a good day but yesterday wasn't so good. It is that time of year when you have to put your time in. Looks like today will be a good day to be on the water. Saturday isn't looking too good.

As I said yesterday the day was a wash. No one out fishing. Had some in this morning trying to get some fishing in before the snow. Well I guess we will see. Looks like today is going to be a great day to be fishing. The bass and pickerel bite has been good. Not hearing much about the muskie fishing in Lake Mercer yet.

Few out fishing but no reports came in. Looks like today is a wash.
