Saltwater & Jetty Report:

Water temp is 45.1 this morning. Looks like the storm made it go back up again. Oh and if you slept thru the storm we got tons of rain last night. LBI has still been quiet as far as reports go. I was told that some are fishing but just no reports or they don't have anything being caught right now. IBSP and the Seaside area has been a bit quiet now and this is due to lack of people fishing. I guess the cooler air temps have people doing other things even though there are still stipers around. I did hear that some of the beaches to the north are still having stripers caught. Some are fishing the northern jetties with some luck as well.
Here is one for ya, there were some tuna off of Spring Lake in about 60 foot of water. Can you believe that? I can't not since it is January. Didn't hear of anybody hooking up with any though. Other party boats are doing good with mackerel out at The Mud Hole. Some catches in the 100's are being reported. Most of these are medium in size. Also heard that the ling fishing is doing good as well. Not hearing how the cod fishing is doing lately.

Water temps are on the way down. It is 43.9 this morning. No word out of LBI at all lately and very little from anyplace else as well. Did hear of a few stripers being caught from the Seaside area on plugs and that is about it. But of course with just about no one fishing who knows just how many stripers are still around just waiting to hit your lure or bait. Been told there are still a bunch of sand eels in the surf with some birds still picking at them. Looks like almost everybody has packed it in until the spring run now. If you want that rod or reel repaired or a custom rod built now is the time. The longer you wait the longer before we can return them to you. If you get bored because you are not going fishing now why not try a rod building class. Our class will teach you how to build your own rods or even to fix them. It is a great way to spend the winter months when your not fishing. For more information about our February class please click here.

Water temp is 44.1 this morning. Looks like it could be on it's way down now. We will have to wait and see. I have caught stripers all the way down to about 42. This means there could be stripers still around to be caught. No word out of LBI at all the past few days. That doesn't mean no one is fishing, it just means there are no reports. Not many fishing IBSP or points north either. Did hear of a few stripers being caught but didn't hear where from.
Had reports that party boats are doing good with cod and ling. Also heard that Ambrose is producing good catches of medium sized mackerel.

Nice day and a few out fishing. Was told a few bass and pickerel were caught. Still have to deal with the skim ice. Most likely that ice is gone now due to last nights rain. Most places I went by today are high and coffee colored.

Couple of reports of pickerel being caught from AMC, Miry Run, and Etra Lake. With that there must have been a few fishing yesterday. They also said that there is skim ice that you have to get thru or find a spot that the water is moving so there is no ice.
