Saltwater / Jetty Report: 10/25/2010
LBI did have some striper action yesterday but not much. All were caught on bunker. Only heard of a couple of stripers caught from IBSP and Seaside area. So yesterday was a slow day. Water temps are now 61 and the wind is suppose to go to out of the south today, not a good sign. We will have to wait and see. Boaters are getting some big bluefish and a few stripers when trolling bunker spoons, or tube umbrella rigs.

Ok I know you all are asking where are the fish? Well it looks like they took a break yesterday. Fishing was slow. Only a hand full of stripers were reported being caught from LBI, IBSP, and the Seaside area. Not even the bluefish were around. I would guess that the water temps coming back up to in the 60's and the full moon had a lot to do with it. Let's see what today brings.

LBI was having a quite day until 4PM then it changed. The bait got close enough to the beach that you could cast into them. And guess what? yup there were fish in them as well. A bunch of stripers and blues were caught up and down the island. Most of the stripers were caught on bunker but plugs are working. The blues it was poppers and metals. IBSP and the Seaside area was pretty quite as well. The only action was bluefish and that was hit or miss because they were in and out of the surf. Also heard of a few nice dinner sized stripers coming off the Barnegat Inlet jetties. Water temps are now down to 59. You better get your butt off the couch and get fishing.

Bay Report: 10/25/2010
Only a few stripers were taken out of Little Egg Inlet, Barnegat Inlet, Barnegat Bay and Great Bay yesterday. It was a quite day.

Few stripers out of Little Egg Inlet and Barnegat Inlet that's all I heard. Slow day on Barnegat Bay, Great Bay and Tuckerton Bay.

Little Egg Inlet is producing some stripers but not a bunch yet. Also hearing of some fishing eels around Little Sheepshead Creek and Big Sheepshead Creek with some luck as well. Barnegat Bay is producing stripers as well. People are fishing Grassy Channel and up by Oyster Creek. Live spot or eels seems to be the best bet but clams and bunker are also working. Not hearing of any being caught on plugs out of the bays.

Fresh Water Report: 10/25/2010
Reports keep coming in that the fishing is great. Bass, pickeral, crappie, sunnies, catfish, and a few crap are being caught. I also had a report from Lake Mercer from Bill that the muskie fishing is doing pretty good. He had one follow and another hit his lure (see pics ). He also said that the fish are definitely feeding because lots of small schools of bait were boiling every once in a while. The ticket was to cast and pull the lure through the bait schools.

Some good fishing going right now. Bass, crappie, and pickeral is going strong with catfish and sunnies running a close second. I had reports from most local lakes, ponds, and streams that were all the same fish are being caught. Even the trout people were not doing too bad. Had reports of a few nice ones from Colonial and Rosedale lakes.

Some nice size trout has been caught from Colonial and Rosedale lakes the pass couple of days. Mostly getting reports from Lake Assunpink and Miry Run that bass, pickeral and some crappie are being caught. I have not heard about the muskie fishing in Lake Mercer yet but I am sure that it is picking up now.
