First Off Shore Trip of the season
Left the inlet at 0400 with Rich, Paul and Chris for the first off-shore trip of the season. Planned on being in the Glory Hole, but as wind and drift would have it, we never made it there. Started our drift in the perfect direction only to be turned by Mother Nature and ran the western edge of the hole all day. Had plenty of drift and once the lines and chum were set we had a fast hit that was a miss. Shortly after that, it was game on with 4 blue dogs hitting at once. A little bit of pain when you only have four guys on the boat. One fish ended up letting go. The second was landed and very small. 4’ range and the other two were fought for a while until they decided to cross lines under the boat. We lost one and landed he second which measured near 10’. We had some action shortly after with two more blue sharks. And just before pulling lines we landed one smaller one. We never drifted into the Glory as planned, and never had a Mako, but still a beautiful day on the water with good guys. On the ride in it laid down a bit and we saw a few whales as well as an Ocean SunFish. Nice start to the Off-Shore Season. God Bless the USA.
